Project overview
Illuminaries have worked with BSCN for a number of years and were tasked with building the society's website and master membership database.
For a long time, BSCN had held all membership information on various spreadsheets, which caused issues with security, distribution and data accuracy.
Our solution
As part of the project, a new data model was created to fulfil the requirements of the society. The existing data was collated and transferred to the new database model, which then allowed members to log in to a secure members area of the new website. The site was also given a content management system to allow the society to update the contents without the need of a developer.
Since it's first incarnation, the website has been updated with new functionality to allow admin users members to create events, which members can apply to attend online. Members can also submit abstracts for presentation at events, and admin users can create the event programme based upon submitted abstracts and guest lectures.
Illuminaries continues to provide support to BSCN.
